An HLTA North candidate has been named as the National Higher Level Teaching Assistant of the Year.
Deborah Carter, who gained her status through HLTA North in 2012, followed up her success in being named the 2018 Yorkshire and Humber regional HLTA of the Year by winning the national award. She faced competition from nominees from other regions around the country, but was selected for this prestigious award by Dr Helen Benstead, chair of the HLTA National Assessment Partnership. Deborah works at Austhorpe Primary School in Leeds and was nominated by her colleagues for her outstanding contribution to the school.
The ceremony took place in London and the award was presented by Johnny Mercer MP.
